The mixing tube decides whether the plaster comes out evenly. Spiral, shaft and tube work against each other and wear together, so it pays to look at them as one unit.

Before you order
Four points that cause the most trouble in practice.
What matters
- Spiral and tube age together. A new spiral in a worn tube does not mix better. Check both before replacing only one part.
- Mind the pitch. Dosing shafts come in different pitches, for example 35 mm. The pitch determines the output per revolution.
- Clean after every use. Dried material in the mixing tube eats the spiral within days. The tube cleaner belongs to the daily routine.
- Hardfaced lasts longer. With abrasive materials such as cement plaster, the hardfaced spiral pays for itself despite the higher purchase price.

Frequently asked
Which mixing spiral fits my machine?
That depends on the machine type and the diameter of the mixing tube. For the No.1 and equivalent machines we supply standard and hardfaced versions. Send us a photo of the worn spiral.
What is the difference between mixing shaft and spiral?
The shaft is the drive train, the spiral is the helix that pushes material through the tube. Horizontal mixers add a dosing shaft.
How often do I replace the mixing tube?
That depends heavily on the material. Lime and gypsum plaster are gentle, cement and quartz-based materials wear much faster. A reliable figure can only be given case by case.
