Before you order
Four points that cause the most trouble in practice.
What matters
- Choose the cross section by length. The longer the cable, the larger the cross section must be. At 25 m and 32 A, 4 mm² is the safe choice, not 2.5 mm².
- Do not confuse 16 A and 32 A. The plugs look similar but are keyed differently. A 32 A machine on 16 A will, at best, only trip the fuse.
- H07RN-F for site work. Rubber-sheathed cable takes cold, wet and being driven over. Ordinary PVC cable does not.
- Check the phase sequence. With three-phase power the phase sequence decides the direction of rotation. A reversing switch saves rewiring the plug.

Frequently asked
Which cable do I need for my plastering machine?
Most machines run on 400 V and 32 A through a CEE plug. Over 25 m we recommend 5 × 4 mm² in H07RN-F. For shorter runs at 16 A, 2.5 mm² is enough.
What does H07RN-F mean?
A rubber-sheathed cable for rough use. It resists oil, cold and abrasion and is approved for construction sites, unlike ordinary PVC cable.
Why does the machine run backwards?
With three-phase power the phase sequence sets the direction. A reversing switch or a plug with a phase inverter turns it around without changing the cable.
